African and Caribbean Mental Health Support

We are commissioned by the NHS to deliver Talking Therapies, which is a psychological service that provides low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

This service is available to all residents who live in the city of Manchester and have a Manchester based GP.

We support people who are experiencing common mental health problems including low mood, anxiety and or depression.

Although we specialise in supporting adults with an African/Caribbean heritage we welcome all adults in the community regardless of their ethnic/cultural background (ie: White Europeans).

Our service is free and we provide support at both step two and step three within the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies framework.

At step two, our low intensity CBT is delivered by Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who qualified at the University of Manchester.

We also provide a step three service via our CBT Counsellor who provides Counselling for Depression and Couples Counselling.

All of our talking therapy services are offered via face-to-face, telephone or video appointments.

Our main referrals come from Talking Therapies Manchester (Single Point of Access via the Big Life Group), but we have the capacity to accept additional clients and would we welcome more referrals from GPs.
