Carer’s Week - 10-16th June

Care is a social determinant of health’ Public Health England

There are around 65,000 unpaid carers in Manchester, who support a family member or friend due to illness, disability, alcohol or substance misuse, a mental health issue or a long-term condition. It’s recognised this role can have a direct impact on an individual’s mental and physical health and wellbeing, in the same way poor housing conditions or having an unsafe working environment can have a negative impact. We want to ensure carers get the right support at the right time to enable them to continue in their caring role and look after their health and well-being.

Carer’s Week 10-16th June

This year’s theme is: Putting carers on the map to raise awareness of the 5.7 million carers in the UK, and to highlight the increasing pressures carers face and to campaign for recognition and support.
